Mariam Melikyan holds a bachelor’s degree from Yerevan State University and a master’s degree in international business relations from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. During her studies she has thoroughly researched topics such as global economic institutions, fintech industry regulations, cross-cultural negotiations, taxation of dividends, and data protection regulations. Being keen on alternative dispute resolution, in her master’s thesis Mariam has also thoroughly researched the balance between transparency and confidentiality in international commercial arbitration. She continually deepens and broadens her professional knowledge through specific professional courses. Since 2018 Mariam has been a licensed advocate of Chamber of Advocates of RA.
Before becoming part of AMCA, Mariam worked both in private practice as an advocate and held various in-house positions since 2016. She has held positions in multinational companies, such as TELUS International, Margarian law firm and Modd Events. She has also held positions in Alfa-Pharm Pharmaceutical Company, Quadra Construction, Zuck Independent Agency, and other companies based in Armenia. While employed at the Center for Mediators from 2016 to 2017 Mariam witnessed one of the first mediation cases in Armenia.Additionally, her multilingual proficiency in Armenian, Russian, English, and Bulgarian enhances her ability to communicate effectively and work with clients from various backgrounds. Her academic achievements, professional experience, and dedication to the legal profession make her a valuable asset in AMCA.
