Opening remarks were delivered by Grant Hanessian, Chair of the Council, who emphasized the importance of continuous cooperation and referred to the Council's objectives. He noted that work is being carried out with leading international experts in the field and local legal professionals, and assured that the specialists involved would operate at a high professional standard. "As the first Chair of the AMCA Arbitration Council, my role is to lead its strategic objectives and support its day-to-day activities. I believe that AMCA can help achieve these goals. During our visit, we will meet with leaders in international and Armenian arbitration to discuss working strategies aimed at introducing Armenian businesses to the culture of alternative dispute resolution," said Grant Hanessian, Chair of the AMCA Arbitration Council. Established in 2023, the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia seeks to develop the culture of alternative dispute resolution in Armenia, contribute to the formation of a more favorable investment environment, enhance Armenia's reputation as a dispute resolution venue, and support the reduction of the burden on the judicial system. "Arbitration is an important method of dispute resolution that makes it possible to reduce the workload of the courts. In addition, it provides Armenian and foreign businesses in the Republic of Armenia with an efficient, swift, and confidential dispute resolution mechanism," noted Hayk Kupelyants, Member of the AMCA Arbitration Council. The meeting concluded with discussions and planning of new programmes and initiatives.
