2024-11-22

In an international arbitration case, a final arbitral award was rendered in just two months following the constitution of the arbitral tribunal. The dispute concerned an agency and intermediary services agreement concluded between a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran and a legal entity registered in the Republic of Armenia.

The proceedings were conducted under the Arbitration Rules of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia (AMCA) in the Armenian language. Notably, this case marked the first application of expedited procedure rules at AMCA in an international arbitration.

In its final award, the arbitral tribunal partially upheld the claimant’s claims, while also granting the request for the recovery of contractual penalties предусмотрված under the agreement between the parties.

The conduct of this case demonstrates that AMCA possesses sufficient experience and organizational capacity to effectively handle complex international arbitration disputes. The Center efficiently applies expedited procedures предусмотрված by its arbitration rules, significantly reducing the time required for dispute resolution.
