Three-Day Mediation Training at AMCA

On October 16, a three-day mediation course was launched at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia (AMCA), bringing together individuals and professionals interested in the field and creating an effective platform for knowledge-sharing, exchange of experience, and professional communication. On the first day of the course, the speakers were Lilit Petrosyan, Director of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia (AMCA), and Maria Petrosyan, Senior Lawyer at the Legislation Development Center Foundation of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.

 

During the day, participants were introduced to the fundamental principles of mediation, the specific features of mandatory mediation, innovative formats of online mediation, as well as the procedures for drafting settlement agreements and obtaining their judicial approval. Particular attention was also given to the important aspects of proper notification of parties and international communication. On the second day of the course, the speakers were Vanik Margaryan, Member of the AMCA Board of Trustees and the Mediation Advisory Council, Mediator, and Natalya Adamyan, Mediator. Participants discussed the principles of mediation and the specific features of its implementation, practical issues related to the conduct of online mediation, the process of drafting settlement agreements, as well as the particularities of mandatory mediation. This stage of the course was also marked by substantive professional discussions and practical observations, contributing to the further development of the participants’ knowledge and skills. At the conclusion of the three-day course, the key topics in the field of mediation were summarized.

 

Over the course of three intensive days, participants explored the main principles of mediation, its implementation, the specific features of mandatory mediation, and the procedures for drafting settlement agreements and securing their approval by the court. They reinforced the knowledge they had acquired through a mediation role-play exercise, which enabled them to apply the theoretical material in a practical setting.
