MoU was signed between AMCA and SCC

2024-11-04

As part of Sweden Arbitration Week, Tatevik Matinyan, Director and Secretary General of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia (AMCA), visited the SCC Arbitration Institute, where she met with the Institute’s Secretary General, Caroline Falconer, to discuss prospects for developing cooperation between AMCA and the SCC Arbitration Institute.

The SCC Arbitration Institute is an institution operating since 1917, providing alternative dispute resolution services, including arbitration and mediation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed potential areas of cooperation, as well as trends and the vision for the development of arbitration in Armenia and the region. The parties also signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening professional cooperation between the two institutions, promoting the exchange of experience, and contributing to the development of arbitration institutions.

Under the Memorandum, the parties will continuously exchange knowledge and experience and inform each other about training and educational programs, emphasizing the importance of continuous education in the field. The parties also undertook, where appropriate, to inform arbitrators and mediators about the benefits and importance of joining each other’s panels of arbitrators and mediators. If necessary, the parties may also assist each other in engaging new arbitrators, mediators, and experts.

This cooperation creates an opportunity to expand international partnerships for the benefit of the development of arbitration and mediation institutions.
