Delegation of the Cօuncil of Europe office in Yerevan visited AMCA

On January 26, a delegation from the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan, led by Acting Head of Office Maxime Longangne, visited the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia (AMCA). The meeting was also attended by Deputy Head of the Department for Legal Reforms and Human Rights Cooperation Programmes Lilit Daneghyan, National Programme Coordinator Tamara Barbakadze, and Senior Project Manager Natalya Adamyan.

 

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of exchanging experience and implementing joint programs. AMCA Director Tatevik Matinyan presented the Center’s services, its efforts to raise public awareness about arbitration and mediation, steps taken toward the development of the field, as well as upcoming projects and objectives.

 

Maxime Longangne welcomed the establishment of the newly founded Center, highlighting the importance of the initiative and wishing the Center success in effectively fulfilling its mission.

 

Lilit Daneghyan highlighted the Council of Europe’s support in recent years for the development of arbitration and mediation institutions in Armenia, including expert assistance aimed at improving legislation in line with human rights and rule of law standards, as well as prospects for future cooperation.
