AMCA Adopts Its Arbitration Rules

2023-11-27

On November 27, the Board of Trustees of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia adopted the Center’s first edition of Arbitration Rules. The AMCA Arbitration Rules have undergone a lengthy process of drafting and review. Members of AMCA’s Arbitration Council made a significant contribution to the development of these rules.

The AMCA Arbitration Rules were designed to provide parties with a clear and efficient mechanism for resolving disputes, both domestic and international. In particular, the rules ensure the full implementation of the principle of party autonomy, provide for flexible and expedited procedures, detail the process for the constitution of the arbitral tribunal, set out the procedure for submitting and considering applications for interim measures, allow for the use of electronic communications, and introduce the possibility of granting urgent and interim relief through emergency arbitration.

In line with the approach adopted by many leading arbitration institutions worldwide, the AMCA Arbitration Rules establish a structured institutional framework aimed at ensuring transparency, efficiency, and fairness throughout the proceedings.
