AMCA and the Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

The Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia and the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia (AMCA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation between academic education and institutional practice in the field of alternative dispute resolution.

The first practical step within the framework of this cooperation is the introduction of the course “Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms in the Republic of Armenia,” developed by AMCA, into the Master’s Programme in Law at the Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia.

Delivered over one academic semester and comprising 32 academic hours, the course is being introduced in Armenia in this format for the first time. Developed by an institutional arbitration and mediation center, it brings together the theoretical and practical components of arbitration and mediation within a single academic course.

The full professional and institutional capacity of AMCA will be utilized in delivering the course, with a view to ensuring its strong practical orientation. Students will develop practical skills through the analysis of scenarios based on real cases, role-playing exercises and simulations. They will also have the opportunity to become directly acquainted with the activities and institutional practice of the Center.

Tamara Shakaryan, Head of the Chair of Law at the Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia, and Lilit Petrosyan, Director of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia, expressed confidence that the cooperation will contribute to deepening students’ professional knowledge and developing their practical skills in the field of alternative dispute resolution.

The cooperation is also expected to strengthen continuous and substantive interaction between academic education and institutional practice, thereby contributing to the development of professional capacity in the field of alternative dispute resolution in Armenia.
