Sophie Tkemaladze has extensive experience in international arbitration, acting both as counsel and as arbitrator in proceedings conducted under the Rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Georgian International Arbitration Centre (GIAC), with particular expertise in disputes arising from the construction of hydroelectric power plants.

She has advised international organizations, including the European Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), as well as governments, including those of Georgia, Ukraine, Sri Lanka, and Iraq, on the development of effective dispute resolution systems and policies.

She has served as President of the Georgian Association of Arbitrators and has delivered training on arbitration and mediation to hundreds of judges, lawyers, mediators, and arbitrators.
