Overview of professional experience

🔷 Maciej Durbas is a Polish-based dispute resolution lawyer with vast experience in both domestic and international arbitration and litigation. Maciej Durbas currently serves as a partner at Kubas Kos Gałkowski Law firm in Kraków, Poland and founder of ArbEv. Since 2011 Maciej works in the award-winning team (Who’s Who Legal, Chambers & Partners, Benchmark Litigation, Best Lawyers, Legal 500, Expert Guides, Forbes), handling complicated trans-border arbitration and litigation proceedings.

🔷 Maciej has extensive experience in arbitration as counsel in numerous proceedings and assistant to the arbitrator or tribunal’s secretary. Since 2018 he is regularly appointed as arbitrator in proceedings under the rules of, e.g., Lewiatan Court of Arbitration, Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw, and Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. 

🔷 Maciej is a member of the Arbitration Committee of the Confederation Lewiatan Court of Arbitration. He is also listed on the VIAC practitioner list and the list of Recommended Arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw, the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Confederation Lewiatan, the Construction Court at the Association of Consulting Engineers and Surveyors in Warsaw, as well as the arbitration database of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).

🔷 He is also a Deputy Chair of the Civil and Commercial Litigation Practice Section at the Krakow Bar Association, member of the Editorial Board (Editorial Board) of the Czech (& Central European) Yearbook of Arbitration. For ten years, Maciej has been coaching the Jagiellonian University’s team in Willem C. Vis Moot.
