On 20 December 2023, the first international conference on “Regional cooperation on Mediation” was held in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. The conference was attended by Igor Mirzakhanyan, the mediation case manager of the AMCA. 
During the conference, the legal framework, principles and persisting challenges in the regional countries regarding mediation as an alternative dispute resolution mechanism were tackled. Igor Mirzakhanyan presented the approaches of the AMCA as a permanent mediation institution and its vision for the development of the field. 

The participants also discussed the possibilities of development of the mediation institute in the region and considered the prospects of implementation of joint programs and further cooperation. 
The conference was organized by the Mediators Association of Georgia with the support of the United Nations Development Program and the Germany.
