The “Law on Mediation” of the Republic of Armenia provides for the possibility of conducting online mediation. This not only ensures the flexibility of mediation but also expands its scope of application.
In a recent international case administered by AMCA, the Civil Court of First Instance of Yerevan approved a settlement agreement reached through online mediation. The case involved a family dispute between a citizen of Armenia and a foreign national.
Despite initial concerns about the reliability of online mediation, the court upheld the agreement, reaffirming its effectiveness and applicability.
This decision sets a significant precedent for Armenia, encouraging innovative and modern approaches to dispute resolution.
