Side Events of International Arbitration Week commenced.
Today, with the cooperation of Football Federation of Armenia the discussion devoted to “Game Changers: Evolution of Sports Arbitration” topic was held at the Federation’s headquarter. Former arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Jirayr Habibyan and McInnes Stuart shared insights on the unique aspects of sports arbitration, the role of CAS, key decisions, and other compelling issues surrounding the arbitration of sports-related disputes.
Sports arbitration has long been recognized as the predominant method of resolving disputes in the global football arena, both domestically and internationally. Article 15 of FIFA Statutes explicitly advocates for the prioritization of arbitration by all relevant parties in dispute resolution.
The exploration of topics in sports arbitration is crucial for the advancement of the field in Armenia, making this discussion a significant step forward.
