Philippe Cavalieros is a partner at Simmons & Simmons’s Paris office. Philippe has been recognised as a world’s leading arbitration specialist and is regularly featured in top tier legal directories such as Global Arbitration Review (GAR) where he was shortlisted in the “Best Prepared and Most Responsive Arbitrator” category in 2016. He focuses his practice on international arbitration and acts as lead counsel representing clients in investor-state and commercial arbitrations under the ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, and other arbitration rules.

He has acted as an Arbitrator in international arbitration proceedings in over 30 cases, including as President of Arbitral Tribunals, Sole Arbitrator or co-arbitrator, and was appointed as the 15th Emergency Arbitrator under the ICC Rules.

From an academic standpoint, he is a regular lecturer at The Hague Academy of International Law and Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He is also Vice-Chair to the ICC Commission on Arbitration & ADR, the leading think-tank and rule making body in the field of international dispute resolution, comprising more than 1300 delegates.
