Overview of professional experience

🔷José María is specialized in litigation relating to civil and commercial contracts (particularly agreements for the purchase of assets and rights, construction and engineering contracts and distribution, concession and agency agreements); corporate disputes (company acquisitions and shareholder disputes); disputes relating to financial agreements and transactions (loans, guarantees, deposits, etc.) as well as insurance and insolvency.  

🔷José María has represented clients, as both prosecutor and defence counsel, in more than 2,000 proceedings before the Spanish courts (involving both domestic and international issues) and advised on Spanish law in judicial proceedings held in Portugal, France, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Israel, Morocco and Australia. He has acted as legal counsel in numerous Spanish and international arbitration proceedings. 

🔷As an arbitrator, he has participated in more than 300 proceedings (as sole arbitrator, a party-appointed arbitrator or as Chairman of the Arbitral Tribunal), both in Spain (“ad hoc”, for the Madrid Court of Arbitration and the Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration CIMA) and internationally (ICC Court of Arbitration, LCIA, AAA/ICDR, CIADI and TAS/CAS), with which he is officially listed as an arbitrator
