The lecture was conducted by Professor Eckart Brodermann from Hamburg University and Professor Armen Haykyants from Yerevan State University.

The speakers discussed the drafting of arbitration agreements, especially the choice of applicable law, the issues concerning conflicts of law, with particular emphasis on the UNIDROIT principles of international commercial contracts.

Students were introduced to the UNIDROIT principles, the history of their development and their perspective as general principles of international trade. Such important aspects as the principle of good faith, its reflection in international legal documents were separately discussed.

At the end of the lecture, students’ questions were also discussed.
